Overview

The CFO will lead financial strategic planning and implementation in both government and commercial sectors including launching new ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and rapid growth financing.  The CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, FAR and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the government and commercial industry. Maintain executive responsibility for financial operations, including working capital, capital expenditures, debt levels, taxes, budget, and general accounting.  Participate in the Executive Management of the company to ensure effective operations, continued growth and excellent performance to have a social impact and maintain profitability

Responsibilities

  1. Responsibilities include complex data analysis, programs development and/or implementation and/or administration across a variety of business unit or projects making up a business area.
  2. Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist CEO in performing their responsibilities.
  3. Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
  4. Manage outside lending and equity relationships, as well as relations with investors and shareholders within the investment community.
  5. Participate in continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
  6. Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the corporation may enter.
  7. Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group and provide individuals with professional and personal growth.
  8. Study long-range economic trends and project company prospects for future growth in market share, opportunities for acquisitions or expansion into new service and product areas.
  9. Represent the company in financial negotiations with other companies, the government, and investors.
  10. Analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  11. Make effective speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to CEO, Executive management and outside investors.
  12. Plans and directs all aspects of financial policies, objectives, and initiatives.
  13. Maintain organization's competitive position and profitability.
  14. Responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the Executive Management Team to plans and establish long-range goals and strategies.
  15. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of ne programs/strategies and regulatory action

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and 14+ years related experience with at least 7 at the Executive Level or equivalent combination of experience and education. 
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.
  • Experience in the financial aspects and negotiations in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Experience in financial management of large complex organizations with both government and commercial clients.
