    Social Solutions International, Inc. (Social Solutions) has an immediate opening for a Program Associate assigned to work on a full-time basis on a contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

     

    The Program Associate is a member of a core management team responsible for delivering on the objectives of the Expanding Monitoring and Evaluation Capacities (MECap) task order with USAID. The work includes analytical, technical, and administrative tasks.

    Responsibilities

    • Engage with the COP and the core team on general management-related activities related to task order compliance and approval documentation processes.
    • Respond to requests (via direct response or appropriate referral) for assistance from the point of contact in USAID.
    • Assign priority to requests and seek feedback as necessary.
    • Organize and participate in meetings, workshops, and speakers.  
    • Book meeting rooms, compile documents, and take notes for meetings. This includes coordinating with outside speakers and high-level Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) specialists.
    • Backstop, as assigned, short-term technical advisors, core team members, and Fellows on overseas assignments.
    • Serve as a recruiter for new staff and Fellow, as needed.  This includes reviewing applications, conducting interviews, checking references, and preparing documentation for submission to USAID.
    • Coordinate travel for employees and consultants.  Directly engage with the Travel Agency and fill out various paperwork ranging from travel authorizations to visa applications.
    • Contribute to Knowledge Management for MECap.
    • Support the MECap team on using the MECap information technology platforms.
    • Prepare draft budgets and financial reports
    • Manage communication products, as assigned.
    • Format and copy-edit written products.
    • Develop a working knowledge of USAID policies and guidelines, as well as corporate practices and procedures.  Stay up to date with government and agency rules and regulations in areas that affect implementation.
    • Contribute to technical activities for MECap based on interest and skills.
    • Orient new staff and Fellows to the Program
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a field related to international development, research, or management.
    • 4+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Strong writing and editing skills.
    • Experience organizing electronic files and providing IT support desired.
    • Experience organizing workshops and events desired.
    • Requires high proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Google applications, Adobe Professional (forms), and other content management desired.
    • Interest in budgeting and program management desired.
    • Experience in the use of database applications is recommended.
    • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a "Secret" security clearance.
