    The Coordinating Implementation Research to Communicate Learning and Evidence (CIRCLE) Project supports USAID’s Health Research Program. CIRCLE supports and coordinates efforts across ​the program, including: stakeholder engagement and knowledge management to facilitate communication and collaborative learning; strategic planning; research translation; targeted technical assistance in implementation research; and other activities to advance research-to-use processes. Activities under CIRCLE span programmatic, technical, logistical and administrative support. Examples of specific tasks include: (1) convening and facilitating meetings; (2) mobilizing subject matter experts; (3) conducting or commissioning research, including landscape analyses on emerging health issues; (4) knowledge management to support dissemination and utilization of research findings; and (5) establishing communities of practice on implementation research and other specific areas.


    CIRCLE has an immediate opening for a full-time Administrative and Events Coordinator who will support CIRCLE’s senior management and specific evaluation activities including the Zika learning evaluation in Latin American and Caribbean countries.


    The Logistics and Admin Coordinator plays an integral part to the CIRCLE team. The coordinator performs a variety of administrative, logistical, and event coordination tasks that involve daily deadlines.

    1. Logistical and events management: Lead the logistical component of meetings, conferences, and workshops that are funded by the CIRCLE Project, including but not limited to, upcoming USAID Broad Agency Announcement workshops. Participate in all related logistical meetings with the client, including participation at the actual meetings, conferences, and workshops, as required. The following logistical tasks may need to be managed and implemented: country and hotel selection; travel arrangements of participants funded by CIRCLE, including support with visas; general communication with meeting participants as needed; purchase of workshop supplies; printing of workshop materials; workshop logistics in-country during workshop, and other logistics-related responsibilities as needed.
    2.  Project task management: Participate in weekly project meetings and support CIRCLE’s senior management with project management tasks as directed. Develop and manage activity plans and calendars. 
    1. Administrative tasks: Complete administrative tasks related to project activities, including creating and managing meeting calendar invites, developing meeting agendas and writing meeting notes and action items. 
    2.  Problem solving: Recommend solutions to problems, seek advice and guidance on which solutions to apply

    4. Other duties as assigned

    Position requires the ability to work independently and requires frequent email availability and phone contact throughout the day. It requires ability to travel locally to meetings and internationally as needed. Work will be done in the Rockville, MD, office and remotely.


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 4 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience with organizing and managing meeting logistics, including meetings in low and middle-income countries
    • Experience with project related administrative tasks
    • Interest in international public health 
    • Experience with USAID preferred
    • Demonstrated appropriate interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, which have resulted in effective team membership
    • Ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously in a dynamic environment
    • Ability to manage and prioritize the tasks associated with an activity or activities
    • Ability to problem-solve, including being able to identify problems and make recommendations for resolving
    • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
    • Demonstrated ability to work with internal and/or external clients and provide required services
    • Proven skills in the effective use of information technology, including (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google suite)
    • Ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude 
    • Spanish proficiency preferred
