Social Solutions is seeking Chief of Party for the anticipated USAID-funded Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (Nepal MEL) Activity in Nepal. The Nepal MEL Activity will support USAID/Nepal Mission and is expected to focus on the provision of technical and advisory services in planning, designing, conducting, disseminating, and learning from monitoring and evaluation of the Mission’s portfolios, in order to improve the achievement and sustainability of USAID’s development outcomes.

 

Overview of the Position

The Chief of Party will provide leadership, management, and technical direction for the Nepal MEL Activity, ensuring high quality of program deliverables; serving as chief liaison to USAID/Nepal, local partners, and key stakeholders; and, ensuring the capacity of a highly responsive, flexible, results-driven program agenda.

This is a full-time position contingent upon donor award.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and overall leadership on the Nepal MEL Activity, including but not limited to program planning, technical execution, financial management, and operations;
  • Manage staff and subcontractors to ensure the timely provision of responsive, high-quality project deliverables;
  • Oversee design, development, and implementation of learning agendas, including development of evaluation tools, data collection and management, report generation, knowledge sharing, and training and capacity-building activities;
  • Lead coordination and consultations with USAID/Nepal, implementing partners, and other key stakeholders and audiences as required.

Qualifications

Successful candidates should have:

  • A master’s degree in international development, social sciences or a related field;
  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience managing complex projects with one or more of the following technical components: research design and data collection; collaborating, learning and adapting (CLA); knowledge management; monitoring and evaluation; and capacity building of USAID mission staff and local partner organizations;
  • Progressive experience in providing strategic technical expertise on learning and evaluation to donors, governments, or the private sector;
  • Excellent team leadership, representational, management, and communication skills;
  • Prior experience managing USAID programs preferred;
  • Fluency in spoken and written Nepali and English is highly preferred; English language fluency is required.
  • Prior experience working in Nepal and the surrounding region strongly preferred.
