Overview of the Position

Social Solutions International Inc. seeks an HR Manager for the anticipated USAID-funded Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (Nepal MEL) Activity in Nepal.  The Nepal MEL Activity will support USAID/Nepal Mission and is expected to focus on the provision of technical and advisory services in planning, designing, conducting, disseminating, and learning from monitoring and evaluation of the Mission’s portfolios, in order to improve the achievement and sustainability of USAID’s development outcomes. This mechanism will provide the Mission with a set of performance and impact evaluations for varied activities which contribute to the Nepal Country Development Cooperation Strategies (CDCS), thematic regional assessments and studies, and learning activities that have supported Mission programming.

The HR manager will lead all HR functions of the project and will be based in Nepal.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process including finalization of job descriptions, advertisement of vacancies, review of applicants, scheduling and conducting interviews alongside project senior management, checking candidate references, and collecting new hire documents;
  • Onboarding/orientation of new project hires;
  • Manage employee benefits enrollment;
  • Coordinate the performance evaluation process;
  • Provide information and advice to project staff regarding HR policies and procedure.
  • Coordinate staff training and establish staff development plans based on appraisals and evaluations;
  • Create and maintain personnel files;
  • Provide oversight related to the updating of personnel files and other related HR documents including employment agreements, amendments, time sheets, calendar holidays and leaves;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field is required.
  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible HR experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent record keeping and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with donor/client rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with local employment law.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; and
  • Verbal and written working proficiency in English and Nepali.
