Overview of the Position

The purpose of the anticipated USAID/Honduras Building Climate Resilience (BCR) Activity is to strengthen the capacity of Honduran systems to withstand and respond to climate variability and change, thereby helping address underlying factors that contribute to irregular migration.

Responsibilities

The COP will be the primary liaison with USAID/Honduras on all technical and administrative matters and must adjust programs and operations as needed. The COP must coordinate and ultimately be responsible for all award management and implementation tasks. The COP will be responsible for responding to the USAID Contracting Officer, the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), and USAID/Honduras Activity Manager(s). The COP will also be responsible for ensuring quality control and the overall responsiveness of technical assistance provided under the award. The COP will ensure the activity is fully staffed and its structure and performance is able to deliver high-quality workplan, reports, and other technical and financial reports and all deliverables as per the Contract. The COP will supervise staff, subcontractors, short- and long-term consultants and other technical assistance involved in the Activity implementation.

Qualifications

  • At least fifteen (15) years of experience in international development work managing all integrated aspects of complex programs of similar scale, with a particular emphasis on environment-related programming; required master’s degree in Geography, Ecology, Biology, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Geology, Biodiversity or Natural Resources Management, Climate Change or other related field is required.
  • At least 8 years of supervisory experience in building and effectively supervising a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, proactiveness, creative problem-solving and ethical management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish is required - Level IV Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) scale.
