Overview of the Position

Social Solutions International is seeking a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Advisor in a consultancy role. This consultant will support Social Solutions’ Global Health Support Initiative III (GHSI-III).

As a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Advisor on Social Solutions International’s Global Health Support Initiative III (GHSI-III) your duties will include:

  • Directing contract wide DEIA efforts across international and geographically dispersed institutional support contract.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of DEIA efforts to improve workplace diversity, workplace inclusion, recruitment and retention, sustainability, and accountability at all levels.
  • Advising and collaborating with the USAID Global Health Bureau (GH) on DEIA topics, including but not limited to recruitment and personnel management, where appropriate.
  • Filling in SME gaps on DEIA as needed for GH.
  • Communicating with GHSI-III leadership on the status of different work activities and efforts. Reporting regularly on the effectiveness of specific programs.
  • Serving as a primary contract advisor on various programs and events.
  • Counseling senior management staff and officials on GHSI-III and at USAID, advising on the appropriate methods and techniques to use in order to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Ensuring that any strategies, work plans, and overall program implementation align with Social Solutions International’s DEIA corporate plan.
  • Developing and communicating efforts to institutionalize the diversity strategy to GH and agency-level stakeholder communities, influencing and guiding GHSI-III employees as well as senior USAID staff and supervisors.
  • Designing and leading trainings for GHSI-III recruiters, employee relations managers, and senior leaders, as well as trainings for USAID personnel as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree and 9 years of relevant work experience, Doctoral degree, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Master’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in successfully supporting large-scale change efforts.
  • Experience directly developing, standing up, and leading the strategic planning and execution of diversity programs and initiatives that drive diverse talent acquisition, retention, inclusion, employee engagement, education, and awareness which includes developing strategy to improve DEI in the areas of recruitment, retention, performance management, and cultural initiatives that scale with company growth
  • Experience working with USG, preferably USAID
  • Experience with conducting industry research and literature reviews
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Google Suite
  • Ability to develop a DEI organizational assessment utilizing both quantitative and qualitative assessment tools
  • Ability to construct clear and engaging visualization of diversity and inclusion current state findings and recommendations
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and functions within the organization
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in facilitation/ presentation
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
