Overview of the Position

Social Solutions is seeking experienced part-time Clinical Preceptors (CPs) for an anticipated federally funded clinical supervision program. The part-time CPs will report directly to the Project Director and will need to be based at U.S. Navy medical clinics around the globe. Specific locations will be discussed upon submission of resume. 

Responsibilities

Clinical Preceptors provide didactic training, clinical supervision, and on-going assessment of counselor skills and performance toward certification as substance use disorder counselors.  As part-time, contract consultants, Clinical Preceptors are responsible for developing training plans, assessing counselor skills, submitting designated documentation, and completing written competency assessments. Clinical Preceptors shall be responsible for providing direct training services, clinical preceptorship, on-going assessment of counselor skills and performance, submitting designated reports, maintaining designated records, and evaluating counselor competency.

 

Work Schedule/Clearance

Qualified candidates must be available to deliver services during daytime business hours and pass a national security background check. Preference will be given to qualified applicants who possess an active security clearance.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in behavioral sciences from an accredited college or university. 

 

Experience (Clinical experience shall meet the following requirements)

  • Currently licensed or certified and actively engaged in the provision of clinical services in either mental health or substance use disorder treatment within the last two years; and
  • Seven (7) years full-time direct counseling experience with patients with substance use disorders; and
  • Four (4) years as a clinical supervisor, supervising/guiding other counselors who have a caseload in which at least 50% of the clients were identified with a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder.

 

The education and experience requirements are contingent upon the requirements stipulated in the anticipated Request for Proposals (RFP) and might change.

 

Substance use: If a prospective clinical consultant/preceptor is recovering from a substance use disorder, he/she/they must have been sober for a minimum of 4 years.
