Social Solutions is seeking a Finance and Administration Specialist for the USAID/Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA)-funded Climate Smart and Disaster Ready (CSDR) cooperative agreement. This four-year program will focus on establishing the Melanesian Youth Climate Corps (MYCC) with a focus on empowering youth in the Pacific Island Countries of Fiji, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands to be leaders within their communities.

The Finance and Administration Specialist will provide financial and administrative management, overseeing all financial management, compliance, and reporting aspects of the activity. The Finance and Administration Specialist will report to the Finance Manager and coordinate with the Program Director to oversee business functions and operational processes and ensure policies adhere to Social Solutions’ and USAID’s regulations and guidelines. The Finance and Administration Specialist role will be a full-time position based in Suva, Fiji.

• Ensure accurate financial, contractual, and administrative reporting to the management team that aligns with Social Solutions’ and USAID’s rules and regulations.
• Oversee financial management and budgeting, including monitoring expenditures in terms of allowability and cost allocation and timely submission of key financial and operational deliverables.
• Liaise with the Finance Manager and Corporate Monitor to ensure compliance, and provide sound advice to the Program Director.
• Establish and oversee internal control systems as well as accounting and financial reporting protocols.
• Ensure compliance standards through audits and file management.
• Mentor Training and Logistics Officers on financial processes and protocols and ensure country-level finance operations are sound.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, business, public administration, or another relevant field.
• At least four (4) years of experience in financial management with experience in finance of donor-funded programs preferred.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing industry standard accounting and financial reporting tools.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across all levels of an organization.
• Demonstrated strong initiative skills and ability to complete tasks both independently and collaboratively as a team member.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor people on financial processes and protocols including people from a non-finance background or with a low base of understanding.
• Understanding of US Government funding regulations and operational guidelines preferred.
• Advanced professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
